I took this picture on a camping trip a dozen years ago of a group of friends in Tobermory. The guy on the left is my best buddy who just passed. The guy on the right passed 4 years ago. The guy in the center married a lady who soon after developed a serious case of cancer. Most people have experienced the stats that 1 in 2 men will develop cancer. This pic of 3 of my coupled friends, shows that cancer devastated all six. Burying our heads in the sand is not useful.
We don't get sick because we have cancer, we get cancer because we are sick. Healthy people don't get cancer. Two of the greatest teachers ever to walk on the Earth, Jesus and Buddha both taught that the only illness is that of ignorance. It is a tough lesson to learn, that we are all ignorant. In a world of information overload it is often difficult to know how to make good decisions. The good news is that as we make gains in that respect and learn to accept full responsibility for our own level of health and happiness, our immunity improves, our health improves and our quality of life improves. It is a challenge indeed, but well worth every second of effort.
My heart aches for my friends and their families and millions of others that suffer unnecessarily from conditions that they are unaware are preventable or reversible. There is no way to avoid pain, but there is a way to progressively reduce and eventually eliminate all suffering. I have nothing but compassion for all doctors & nurses committed to helping others and all the families that continue to suffer from the effects of cancer and other illnesses.
Instead of racing to find a cure for 3000 diseases that come from "out there", it is a million times more effective, to do just one thing, focus on what is "in here", and maximize our immunity and susceptibility to all illnesses by making continuous improvements to our entire constitution of body mind and spirit. I will continue to get the word out, as I have been doing for many years, to anyone that is interested, that there is another way. This week I made this video...
